The only mount the skyscale completely replaces is the springer. All the other mounts remain relevant for what they do the best. SKyscale is just the hovering mount, slower than other mounts but can mantain height momentarly. PD: I feel like people overhype the skyscale; it's really good, but the Griffon is the real gamechanger.

At launch, two new explorable zones will take you to the skies over Tyria; a new map will become available as the story progresses in future releases.
It’d look hideous on most mounts, but give a good map of how the channels overlap, if they do. Finally, a couple color schemes. Push the overall look dark, push it light, and then one muted look to show how natural one could go. For a big finale, finish with a flashy, but designed scheme for an impressive look.

I'm pretty sure that the ability to mount in combat is only if you do both the new and old acquisition for skyscale, so everyone who wanted an easier time getting the skyscale would still have to do the old way of getting it just to be able to do that, and people who only bought SotO wouldn't even have access to it.

The Griffon and Roller Beetle are both faster (Skimmer is too, only on water) but the Skyscale is the most useful utilitarian mount in the game. I use it probably 95% of the time I'm mounted. Enundr.9305. I dont think it has to do with being in Cantha. It looks like it is affecting any of my characters that did not have the skyscale mount selected before logging out last. If they did have the skyscale set as the hot key mount when last logged off then it is able to be summoned.
