Aftermeasuring the thickness of the casing of both tires, it becomes clear why the 27 TPI carries that much more weight: the sidewalls and tread section of the 27 TPI Larry are much thicker. I do a lot of road riding and have 70 which have worked great but if you are commuting and don't care so much about weight then around 120 might be good.
